I took my wife out for Valentine’s Day early to beat the crowd and we went to the movies again saw the movie Pink Panther 2 starring Steve Martin at my favorite movie theater, The Warren Theater, here in Moore, Oklahoma.
The continuing adventures of Inspector Jacques Clouseau, Steve Martin is again the legendary French Officer of the Law, Inspector Jacques Clouseau, who single-handedly saved the priceless Pink Panther Diamond in the first Pink Panther move. Inspector Clouseau has been working outside the museum where the diamond is on display writing parking tickets for the last 6 months. Chief Inspector Dreyfus, played by John Cleese, assigned this duty to his bumbling and inept police officer to get him out of his hair. Recently, treasures from around the world have been stolen by the thief known as The Tornado. A international dream team of detectives is assembled to capture him. Chief Inspector Dreyfus is ordered to assign Clouseau to the dream team. As soon as Clouseau joins the team, the Pink Panther Diamond is stolen by The Tornado. Now Clouseau must not only capture The Tornado, but save the Pink Panther Diamond again.
In the end, Inspector Clouseau is removed from the dream team and the dream team solves the case by finding The Tornado dead with a suicide note at hand. Of course Inspector Clouseau does not believe the case is solved and later determines that the one who has the stolen Pink Panther Diamond is none other than one of the dream team members, Sonia. So Inspector Clouseau solves the crime again! And of last note, Inspector Clouseau marries the love of his life, his assistant/secretary Nicole, played by Emily Mortimer.
Also starring in the movie as Inspector Clouseau’s assistant Ponton is Jean Reno. Other members of the dream team are: Vincenzo played by Andy Garcia, Sonia played by Aishwarya Rai, Pepperidge played by Alfred Molina, and Kenji played by Yuki Matsuzaki.
My wife really enjoyed the movie and I thought she might be thrown out of the movie with her load laughter. But there was only a few couples in the movie at the time and they were laughing out loud also. It does have several very funny scenes but I like more action and drama movies. I would give it a rating of 3 out of 5 and I recommend that you see the movie. It is rated PG for some suggestive humor, brief mild language and action. Post if you have any comments.
