Microsoft Windows Vista 64 bit Ultimate Installation Continuation

One Sunday afternoon, three full evenings, and I am finally getting Microsoft Windows Vista 64 bit Ultimate installation up and going. I have installed about half of my applications and still have many yet to install. I have had a few that would not install. However, I could link back to the installed application on my Vista 32 bit Ultimate installation drive and the application would run. So it would be the install process that failed and not the application itself. Reinstalling my applications is really time consuming. It takes time to install the application but takes even more time to personalize the application, changing file location, adding your name, changing themes, etc.

Vista 64 bit is however running much better than my Vista 32 bit installation. Much more responsive and none of the “Program is not responding…” error message that I had on Vista 32 bit. I installed my Slysoft Clone DVD but it Slysoft Banner would not write to my other drive as it said I didn’t have permission to write to that drive. Why not Vista, I am running an administrator rights account? Also got tried of having to approve every move and restructure of my start menu application that I finally turned off User Access Control (UAC) and now Slysoft Clone DVD would write to my other drives and no longer gave the permission error. Like I said before, I hate UAC with a passion.

I did have a problem with the address bar in both Internet Explorer and Firefox. I would enter an address in the address bar and press enter but the website would not display and the address bar would revert back to the address of the page that I was on previously. Not sure what I did but it seems to work ok for now.
